Vineyard Families:   This year’s first Friday Frenzy will be on Friday, July 5, at the newly renovated Clubhouse, beginning at 6:30.  All are welcome.  The frenzy is hosted by John Herrin and Susan Miller; they will provide the main entrée of pulled pork and fried chicken.  As in previous years, host will provide an entrée and the hospitality committee provides water, soft drinks, paper products and utensils.  Attendees are invited to bring a side dish to share with neighbors and an adult beverage if so inclined.

Something new this year - We are asking families to donate food items so local food pantries can stock up for the summer.  With schools closed, numerous children will not be getting their free lunches. According to the Williamsburg Salvation Army, in an article in the Gazette, dated 15 June and on local television, 19 June, they expect 800 to 1,000 children will need services this summer.  It is encumbered upon us who have plenty to share with those less fortunate.  Please consider bringing much needed items. Suggestions include canned items such as Tuna, fruit, stew, or vegetables. Other selections much needed are peanut butter, Spaghetti sauce, powdered milk, Mac and Cheese, and Potatoes.  Low-sodium and non-allergy products are also good choices.

If you are  unable to attend the Frenzy , feel free to drop off items at the clubhouse on  July 5,  or any time prior to that  at Diana Skelton/Danny Switzer’s home at 2697 Jockey’s Neck Trail.  They will see that the food items get to one or all of the following:  Salvation Army, FISH, or the Grove Christian Outreach Center’s  Summer Meals for Kids.
