Please mark your calendar for August 13th as there will be a great deal of activity in the neighborhood beginning around 6:30 AM.  Racers will begin arriving around 7:00 AM and the one mile Fun Run begins at 8:00 AM.  As in the past, that run/walk begins at the Clubhouse and heads toward Sara Spence and turns around back down Jockey's Neck Trail back to the Clubhouse.  This event will end at approximately 8:20 AM.  The 5K run is set to start at 8:30 AM and runners will run down Jockey's Neck Trail toward the entrance and left onto Lake Powell Road and then on to Treasure Island.  They will turn back and return the same course they left on finishing at the Clubhouse.

Traffic will be halted on Jockey's Neck Trail from approximately 7:45-8:05 AM and again from 8:15-8:45 AM to start the race.  After that time traffic will be allowed to move out of the neighborhood, but do keep in mind runners will be on the road so please use caution when driving.  The back entrance (exiting on the entry road of the Williamsburg Winery) will be open for residents to enter and exit the neighborhood.

Immediately after the runners complete the course awards will be given out in the Clubhouse parking lot (vendors will be staged here during the event as well).  The entire event will be completed by noon and the area left clean.  Note that tents will be erected sometime Thursday / Friday before the event in the Clubhouse area.  All items will be removed by the following Monday.

We have developed a very good parking plan over the past few years and it will be repeated again this year.  Parking will be in the common areas adjacent to the Grape Vines near the Gazebo as well as the upper damn walk.  Here is a map of the run trails as well as the parking:

Last year we were able to fit all cars in the parking areas 1&2 and that will be our goal again this year.  In the event we have additional cars to park they will be parked first on the out-going lane of Goodrich Durfey and then, if need be, on the outgoing lane of Reserve Drive.  CDR volunteers will be staged to ensure that parked cars stay on the street and not in front of drives.  Safety vehicles will be parked at the end of Pates Creek for quick access to the course.

This event is a significant fund raiser for the CDR with the 2016 goal of $50,000.  They are extremely appreciative of the generosity of the Vineyards community to provide the venue for this premier event.  Moreover, it speaks volumes about the giving culture of the residents of the Vineyards at Jockey's Neck.
