The Annual CDR (Childhood Developmental Resources) 5K charity run will once again be hosted by the Vineyards at Jockey;s Neck community and the event is scheduled for Saturday, August 10, 2019.  For those unfamiliar with the CDR organization, it is a non-profit serving Williamsburg and James City County to help individuals and families with childhood developmental needs.  You can read more about the organization at http://www.cdr.org

As in the past, the event setup will begin on Friday afternoon before the event.  The Clubhouse parking lot will be the base for the run and you'll see tents and porta-pottys being set up.  There are a few changes this year which will help with general congestion on the streets.  The "Fun Run" that typically preceded the 5K will not be held this year.  In its place with be an obstacle course run which will be on the Clubhouse grounds.  Also, the Start/Finish line will be moved to an area just South of the swimming pool where the stone was placed for repair of the pool.

Please expect participants and their visitors to begin entering the neighborhood around 6:30 AM Saturday morning.  Parking will be as it has been in prior years in areas 1-4.  The areas will be filled in their numerical order.  We will do our best to keep cars off of areas 3 & 4, but it will depend on the turnout.

The run will begin at 8:00 AM and Jockey's Neck Trail will be closed to traffic from about 7;45 - 8:30 and then traffic will be restricted as there will be many runners on the course from the start/finish line to the entrance of Jockey's Neck Trail.  The back gate (at the far end of JNT will be open for all residents East of the start finish line to leave and enter the neighborhood.  For those West of the start finish line please plan your travel in and out of the neighborhood based on the restricted times mentioned above.

The event will be wrapped up by 1:00 PM, but you can expect the runners / walkers to be off the course by 11:00 AM.
